Meeting Minutes - 11/19/24

     City of Ellinger Minutes from the meeting of the City of Ellinger held on November 19, 2024.

            Attendance:                Commissioner Cullen Weishuhn

Commissioner Kenny Stojanik

            2 visitors in attendance.

1.      Meeting was called to order by Mayor Matt Mikulenka at 6:00 pm at the City of Ellinger City Hall.

2.      Pledge of Allegiance was recited to the United States Flag and to the Texas Flag.

3.      Invocation was presented by Mayor Matt Mikulenka.

4.      Public Comment.

6.      NEW Business:

a.       Discuss, consider, and adopt resolution designating a disaster recovery management service provider to complete application and project implementation for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Public Assistance  (PA)/Hazard Mitigation Assistance (HMA) funding administered by the Federal Emergency Management Agency, Texas Division of Emergency Management and/or Texas Water Development Board.  Motion was made by Matt Mikulenka to adopt a resolution selecting Grant Works Inc. as the disaster recovery management service provider for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Public Assistance (PA)/Hazard Mitigation Assistance (HMA) funding administered by the Federal Emergency Management Agency, Texas Division of Emergency Management and/or Texas Water Development Board. Motion was seconded by Cullen Weishuhn. Motion & resolution passed.

b.      Discussion was held on the 2025 meeting city meeting dates. Motion was made by Cullen Weishuhn to keep the 3rd Thursday of every month as the meeting date, excluding November and December due to the holidays.  Motion was 2nd by Matt Mikulenka.

c.       Discussion was had on the recent bids received from contractors for the Community Development Building Grant Fund 2024/2025 CDV23-0016.  Motion was made by Matt Mikulenka to accept all bids. Motion was 2nd by Cullen Weishuhn.  Another motion was made by Cullen Weishuhn to award S-Co Inc. as the contractor. Motion was 2nd by Kenny Stojanik.

d.      No action taken was taken on agenda item 4.

e.       A motion was made by Matt Mikulenka for an addendum to add an item number 5 to the agenda to discuss, consider and take action on a potential land deal between the City and a private land owner in the City limits. Motion was made by Cullen Weishuhn to move forward with the transaction. Motion was 2nd by Kenny Stojanik.

f.       Motion by Matt Mikulenka to adjourn, 2nd by Kenny Stojanik, motion carried.
