City of Ellinger Minutes from the meeting of the City of Ellinger held on February 26, 2026.
Attendance: Mayor Matt Mikulenka
Commissioner Cullen Weishuhn
Commissioner Kenny Stojanik
0 citizens were in attendance.
1. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Matt Mikulenka at 6:00 pm at the City of Ellinger City Hall.
2. Pledge of Allegiance was recited to the United States Flag and to the Texas Flag.
3. Invocation was presented by Mayor Matt Mikulenka.
4. Public Comment: No Public Comment
5. Minutes from the previous meeting were read by Cullen Weishuhn. Motion to accept the minutes as read were made by Matt Mikulenka motion was 2nd by Kenny Stojanik.
6. Treasurer’s report was recited by Kenny Stojanik. Motion to accept the report and pay all bills was made by Cullen Weishuhn motion was 2nd by Kenny Stojanik.
7. Old Business:
a. Discussion was continued for Hruska’s Store and Bakery R.O.W. usage. It was decided that this topic will not be discussed any further until furnished with new information from Hruska’s.
8. NEW Business:
a. Discussion was held over a proposed resolution of the board members of the city of Ellinger, Texas, authorizing the preparation and filing of an application with the Texas Water Development Board: Water Infrastructure and Supply Grants, for the funding of water system improvements to Ellinger Sewer and Water Supply Corporation. Motion was made Matt Mikulenka to approve Resolution #38. Motion was 2nd by Cullen Weishuhn.
b. Discussion was held over whether or not to solicit an architect for a Emergency Operation Center (EOC). Motion was made by Cullen Weishuhn to reach out to an architect to draft several options for a +/- 2,500 sq. ft. building. Motion was 2nd Cullen Weishuhn.
c. A new five (5) year plan was discussed. Several goals were mentioned for the next five years which included:
i. Construction of a new City Hall Building.
ii. More street lights
iii. Seek land opportunities for a future City park.
iv. Construction of a City Welcome sign.
v. Paving of all streets not covered by existing awarded government grants.
d. It was discussed that the City will look for areas around town that are in need of street lights.
e. Motion was made by Matt Mikulenka to adjourn the meeting. Motion 2nd by Cullen Weishuhn.
