City of Ellinger Minutes from the meeting of the City of Ellinger held on February 22nd, 2024.

Commissioner Kenneth Stojanik
Commissioner Cullen Weishuhn

1. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Mikulenka at 6:00pm at the City of Ellinger City Hall.
2. Pledge of Allegiance was recited to the United States Flag and to the Texas Flag.
3. Invocation was presented by Mayor Mikulenka.
4. No public comment. Motion by Matt Mikulenka to close public comment, 2nd by Kenny Stojanik, motion carried.
5. Minutes from the previous meeting were reviewed. Motion by Kenny Stojanik to accept the minutes as read, 2nd by Matt Mikulenka, motion carried.
6. Treasurer’s report was given. Motion by Matt Mikulenka to accept report and to pay all bills, 2nd by Cullen Weishuhn, motion carried.
7. Old Business:
a. Discussion on city permitting was continued as it was agreed to keep doing more research into the matter.
b. Discussion was continued on a possible trash ordinance for the city.
c. A resolution was passed that the City of Ellinger will lease Block 3 of the town to Magnolia Oil and Gas.
d. It was agreed that the City to take over payment of 10 or so existing security street lights in town.
8. NEW Business:
a. Discussion was had on the cost of “de-energizing” a generator at West Point’s water facility and motion was made by Cullen Weishuhn for the city to buy this generator for the benefit of Ellinger Sewer & Water Corp., 2nd by Kenneth Stojanik, motion carried.
b. It was discussed that there were no citizens who filed to run against Commissioner Stojanik on his current position and that the election will have to be cancelled.
c. Mayor Matt Mikulenka gave an update on the TDA funding and the environmental study had still yet to be conducted.
d. It was discussed that the City’s GLO funding application is still under review.
e. Set next meeting date and location: March 28, 2024 at the Ellinger City Hall building on 101 W. Shumacher St., Ellinger, Texas.
f. Motion by Matt Mikulenka to adjourn, 2nd by Kenny Stojanik, motion carried.
