City of Ellinger Minutes from the meeting of the City of Ellinger held on April 25, 2024.

1.     Meeting was called to order by Mayor Mikulenka at 6:00pm at the City of Ellinger City Hall.
2.     Pledge of Allegiance was recited to the United States Flag and to the Texas Flag.
3.     Invocation was presented by Mayor Mikulenka.
4.     No public comment. Motion by Matt Mikulenka to close public comment, 2nd by Kenny Stojanik, motion carried.
5.     Minutes from the previous meeting were reviewed. Motion by Kenny Stojanik to accept the minutes as read, 2nd by Matt Mikulenka, motion carried.
6.     Treasurer’s report was given. Motion by Matt Mikulenka to accept report and to pay all bills, 2nd by Kenny Stojanik, motion carried.
7.     Old Business:
a.      Discussion was continued on removing components from the West Point water plant. Bids were reviewed and it was decided that the City of Ellinger will elect Jeffery James to break down the miscellaneous tanks, pipes and fencing and Ellinger will look for bids to move/transport the works to Ellinger.  Motion was made by Mayor Matt Mikulenka and motion 2nd by Cullen Weishuhn
b.     Discussion was held on repaving the streets in Ellinger and the Mayor has spoken with several contractors and it still waiting on a few more bids. It was decided to keep this topic on the next agenda until the City receives more bids.
c.      It was discussed that there were a few documents that still needed to be filled out in order to cancel the election for Commissioner Stojanik’s election. Documents were executed at the meeting and were then sent to Fayette County.
8.     NEW Business:
a.      An agreement was produced by Mayor Mikulenka containing the terms and conditions proposed for acquiring Fayette County Justice of the Peace, Jaime Moreau as the City’s Municipal Judge. The agreement was reviewed by the council and it was motioned by Commissioner Weishuhn to accept the terms of the agreement. Motion 2nd by Kenny Stojanik.
b.     A resolution was produced for the hiring and pay schedule for Jaime Moreau as the City of Ellinger’s Municipal Judge. Motion to accept the resolution was made by Cullen Weishuhn. Motion 2nd Matt Mikulenka
c.      Discussion was held on the latest news on the TDA waterline. It was mentioned that a survey would be needed in order to make sure the line is place within the City right-of-ways.
d.     Set next meeting date and location: May 23, 2024 at the Ellinger City Hall building on 101 W. Shumacher St., Ellinger, Texas.
e.      Motion by Matt Mikulenka to adjourn, 2nd by Kenny Stojanik, motion carried.
