RESOLUTION NO. 38
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD MEMBERS OF THE CITY OF ELLINGER, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE PREPARATION AND FILING OF AN APPLICATION WITH THE TEXAS WATER DEVELOPMENT BOARD: WATER INFRASTRUCTURE AND SUPPLY GRANTS, FOR THE FUNDING OF WATER SYSTEM IMPROVEMENTS TO ELLINGER SEWER AND WATER SUPPLY CORPORATION.
WHEREAS, THE TEXAS WATER DEVELOPMENT BOARD IS AUTHORIZED, THROUGH HB 500, 89th Legislative Session (excerpt Section 6.02) SECTION 6.02.: WATER INFRASTRUCTURE AND SUPPLY GRANTS FOR THE ACQUISITION, DESIGN, AND CONSTRUCTION OF WATER INFASTRUCTURE AND SUPPLY; AND
WHEREAS, THE CITY OF ELLINGER, TEXAS DESIRES TO PURSUE WATER SYSTEM IMPROVEMENTS INCLUDING WATER METERS, NEW PUBLIC WATER SUPPLY WELL, LAND ACQUISITION FOR WATER PLANT, WATER STORAGE, PRESSURE TANKS, WATER TREATMENT, BOOSTER PUMPS AND REPLACEMENT WATER LINES; AND
WHEREAS, THE CITY OF ELLINGER, TEXAS IS QUALIFIED TO APPLY FOR FUNDS FROM THE TEXAS WATER DEVELOPMENT BOARD INFRASTRUCTURE AND SUPPLY GRANTS;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF THE CITY OF ELLINGER, TEXAS;
1. That the Board hereby authorizes the City of Ellinger Mayor, staff, engineer and consultants to prepare and file a grant application with the Texas Water Development Board Water Supply and Infrastructure Grant 2026 for the water system improvements to the Ellinger Sewer and Water Supply Corporation TO INCREASE CAPACITY AND REDUCE WATER LOSS including water meters, new public water supply well, land acquisition for water plant, water storage, pressure tanks, water treatment, booster pumps and replacement water lines, design, engineering, administration, cost of materials and installation for an estimated total of $5,000,000;
2. That, if funded, the City of Ellinger will comply with all the requirements of the Water Supply and Infrastructure Grant 2026; and
3. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute any necessary documentation related to the grant application described herein.
